About Me

Melissa Estes is a licensed professional counselor and licensed marriage and family therapist associate specializing in individual therapy, and maintains a private practice in Spring, Texas.

With over nine years of experience as a marriage and family therapist, and as a graduate of Texas A&M University and the University of Houston-Clear Lake specializing in marriage and family therapy, she is currently serving as a private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients. She is currently working on her doctorate in psychology and will become a clinical psychologist. Among her areas of expertise are child and adolescent counseling, marriage counseling, and bipolar disorder counseling.

She has held positions at Clear Creek ISD as a school counselor, Travis County Integral Care and MHMRA of Harris County as a counselor for people with schizophrenia, post-traumatic stress disorder, bipolar disorder, and borderline personality disorder; at a fertility clinic, and Sightline Health as a counselor for cancer patients.  She was interviewed twice on the TV show, Great Day Houston, about being a counselor. She was a guest speaker on a radio station and she spoke to adolescents about how to cope with bullying. She has appeared on KPRC several times and has been interviewed on KSBJ radio. She has also given several speeches about beating cancer. She has also helped teach counseling students counseling techniques.

Melissa uses compassion combined with solution-focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and emotion-focused therapy. She has been specially trained in cognitive behavioral therapy and cognitive processing therapy. Her therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. She integrates complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, she works with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.
